— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) February 20, 2016Disclaimer: This is intended to be a safe haven for Hillary Clinton supporters. While anyone can come and post here, we ask that any non-Clinton supporters be civil towards the rest of us, and we’ll do our best to reciprocate.
The post-New Hampshire time period has been about as rough as I imagined, but thankfully we’ve reached the Nevada caucus. We’re in for some high suspense, given that as of the drafting of this diary, only 3 polls have weighed in, and one of them was a blatant Republican push poll. So technically, it could go either way. Yet I feel good for several reasons. Hillary has more than 3 times as many volunteers on the ground as Sanders, 7000 to 2,000, and is matching him in ad spending. She has unions and high-profile public figures working for her to get out the vote. She’s winning all of the newspaper endorsements. Her campaign strategist, Robby Mook, engineered her previous Nevada win in 2008.
Of course there are also hints of shenanigans, including from Republicans, who are seeking to organize to flood the caucus to deny Hillary Clinton. Fortunately the Democratic Party is on to them, and hopefully they won’t succeed.
It all makes me relieved that I’m working tomorrow and have something to distract me from the tension. So you may not see me much, at least until later afternoon PST.
While we wait, check out Lysis’s News & Views and anything from the Hillary Writers Circle. Some good diaries include:
First Amendment: James Clyburn Endorses Hillary: “My Heart Has Been With Hillary Clinton Since Day One”
bahaba: How Hillary Won Harlem
Scan: Texas Early Voting Starts Today!
biacardi: Las Vegas Sun Endorses Hillary Clinton
You can also find good pro-Hillary diaries at #HillaryClinton and other related hash tags, though you need to wade through a lot of mud, of course. I don’t know if it’s just me, but it feels like I’m seeing an uptick of “I’m With Hillary” diaries lately, from Laura Clawson to the following.
JBtakenote: I Have Decided — I’m For Hillary
PeskyPerson: Hill Yes, I’m With Her
Warmwaterpenguin: This Millennial is With Her
blackcheckerjim: An excessively comprehensive case for Hillary
DaisiesArePretty: Hillary Clinton’s Long, Committed Record Advocating For Women and Children
During the dark period from New Hampshire until now, we did manage have some great moments of inspiration, such as Scan’s #MadamPresidentsDay marathon, which raised money for our favorite candidate and was a lot of fun.
No matter what happens in Nevada, we’ll stay strong and move forward to South Carolina and the Super Tuesday states, most of which have great poll numbers for Hillary.
In the meantime, if you haven’t donated yet and have a few dollars to spare, please consider donating to the campaign.
