With 100% of precincts reporting Bernie Sanders has won Kansas 67.7% to 32.2%, by 35.5 points!
Take that in for a moment. ‘Socialist’ Bernie has won Kansas, of all places, by OVER THIRTY FIVE POINTS!
To be fair, Hillary Clinton is currently ahead, 70% to 22%, or by 48 points, in Louisiana which is a great win for the Clinton campaign, although it was largely expected and predicted. Most polls predicted a margin very similar to that.
But let’s be honest here, did anyone expect Bernie Sanders to beat her TWO to ONE in Kansas? He didn’t even win by that much in ultra white, liberal New Hampshire!
I didn’t. The media didn’t. The people running the caucus certainly didn’t. I don’t even think Bernie Sanders did.
The last poll had Bernie down by 10 points in Kansas just a few days ago!
Boy weren’t they off! By 45 points! And Bernie’s second largest margin of victory (aside from Vermont) is thanks in large part to turnout that was even BIGGER than 2008!
Whoever said the people wouldn’t turnout for Bernie? Whoever said the young people wouldn’t show up? Because they damn well did.
Bernie hasn’t ‘won’ Super Saturday but he is definitely still in the race. And by his midwestern wins he sure as hell isn’t going away.
