Virginia said it all, to me. Michigan refuted that, to my shock and joy. Ohio had the definitive rebuttal.

It’s over.

The competitive portion of the Democratic nomination for 2016 has been decided. Hillary Clinton won.

I got to cast my vote for Sanders, so I don’t have any regrets. No Sanders supporter should have any regrets, either — whether they’ve cast their vote for him already, or not.

No one who is for Sanders, but hasn’t gotten to vote for him yet, should vote for Clinton in their primary. Keep voting for Sanders.

But if you’ve already voted for Sanders, push for future primary and caucus voters to vote for Sanders but don’t try to drag Clinton down, nationally. She is the nominee, now.

The competition for the nomination is over.

The conversation continues.

Continue it.

Those of us who are new Hillary Clinton supporters may wind up being the best Hillary Clinton supporters in the end, because we’re not invested in her victory in November for any other reason that it’s indispensable given the alternative. We don’t like her, we merely need her.

But as the best Hillary Clinton supporters, then, we will continue to advocate and vote for Bernie Sanders for the rest of this primary season, results and delegate totals be damned.

November will come, we have our nominee. It’s Hillary Clinton.

Continue the conversation, make the nominee better.

Win November.
