WSJ POLL: Bernie won the Debate 44% to 32%

There was a CBS poll out earlier and a PPP poll (sponsored by Hillary’s Super PAC— LOL) that showed Hillary winning the debate. But as we all know, narratives take time to form. The early flash polls (yes, the scientific ones) after the first debate showed that Hillary barely won. Yet, after a few days, the margin saying she won drastically increased. Hillary’s people have been dodging questions all day today about her shaky performance last night and the her involvement in the DNC’s decision to hold the debate on a Saturday night when no one is watching.

Here is the poll, though it’s behind a paywall at the moment...

As for the CBS poll, a couple interesting things pop out. First, 86% of Democrats say Bernie is “trustworthy and honest,” while only 58% say the same about Hillary. Also, on the question of who is best to tackle inequality: Bernie has a 58-31 advantage. That is a DRASTIC departure from CBS’s poll just a few days ago showing Hillary having a sizeable advantage on that topic. Claiming that 9/11 has something to do with Goldman Sachs lining your bank account MIGHT have something to do with that.

And a quick reminder that on this day in 2007, Obama was losing by 22 in the polling averages with another candidate in the mix. Today, Bernie is losing by 21 in the polling averages with another candidate in the mix. In fact, Hillary’s lead hasn’t really increased at all since August and September.

Again, the usual caveat applies: Hillary is still the favorite, so there is a lot of work to do. But with the Postal Union endorsement and Hillary supporters like Nina Turner changing their endorsement, we’ve got the momentum.
