Good morning (and Happy Easter to those who celebrate it, whether by sunrise services or high mass or chocolate-smeared faces). I’m one of the rotation of writers covering for Lysis on Hillary News & Views during his vacation. As Scan said last week, there is only a rudimentary style sheet for this series, so each of the guest writers does things a bit differently. We have a rotation set up for next week, so grab your coffee and stop by each morning. And a shout-out to El Mito for hosting yesterday’s open thread, complete with Big Bird (and “The Bird is the Word” video), drinks recipes, decluttering advice, and some good reports in the comments about the actual voting.

The big news, of course, is the results from yesterday’s Western caucuses. You’ve already seen the headlines: Sanders sweeps. Here are the numbers and delegate estimates as of 8:00 EDT. The Hawaii delegate estimate is my back-of-envelope calculation; the rest are from Green Papers. Remember that for caucuses, the delegate estimates are just that, and may shift slightly at the next two levels of conventions.

Subir’s (pro-Bernie and factual) diary has slightly different numbers, with a bottom line of +226.

In short, as we anticipated, Hillary’s delegate lead dropped a lot — all the way down to where it was after Super Tuesday (and remember how happy we were about it then?). So — on to Wisconsin (April 5), Wyoming (April 9 caucus), and New York (April 19).

I don’t believe Clinton has issued a statement or made a speech yet, other than this tweet:

I assume she (like the rest of us) went to bed without waiting for the Hawaii results, and will congratulate Bernie later, as she always does in her classy and gracious way.

In the meantime, if you haven’t already watched this, do — and get a hanky.

Finally, I’d like to highlight here some of the good diaries by Hillary supporters describing their experience — and enthusiasm — at yesterday’s caucuses. A special welcome to new writers! If I’ve left any out, please note them in the comments.

I will be out most of the morning, so chat away among yourselves, and I’ll be back later.
