With over 77 percent of pledged delegates already allocated, Hillary’s delegate lead has become insurmountable. So far in contests this month, Senator Sanders has won the Indiana primary and Hillary has won the Guam caucus, with a net gain of 4 pledged delegates to Senator Sanders. Looking forward, the demographics of the remaining May contests (West Virginia, Kentucky, Oregon) favor Senator Sanders and he will likely win the majority of them, but the map becomes more favorable to Hillary in June. Even if Senator Sanders wins each of the remaining nine states by 30 points, Hillary will still have earned the majority of pledged delegates and popular vote. Considering that Senator Sanders has not won a single primary by more than 22 points outside of his home state of Vermont, it’s hard to see how a sting of 30-point wins will be possible. The five states that are most favorable to Senator Sanders moving forward — West Virginia, Oregon, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota — contain just 16% of the remaining delegates. This is less than the combined delegates of New Jersey and Puerto Rico, both of which are favorable states for Hillary.
Robby is a smart man, and Hillary is lucky to have him on her team.
