Hillary spent the last two days in Kentucky, tirelessly campaigning.   She is working very hard, showing us a lot of energy, even though the nomination has already been long decided (the math is no longer realistic or even remotely possible for Bernie).

May 16, 2016

Hillary Clinton spoke about her plans on making 2 years of community college free as well as focus on technical aspects in high school while campaigning in Lexington at Transylvania University.

At the Lexington rally, she was introduced by Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes and had the support of four former Kentucky Democratic governors — Steve Beshear, Paul Patton, John Y. Brown Jr. and Julian Carroll.

Beshear had a speaking role in which he criticized presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump. He said Clinton is the most qualified person ever to run for president and is reliable, smart, strong and knows “about the use of diplomacy to keep peace in this world.”

When Democrats put up their candidate “against the other guy, no one in their right mind would want Donald Trump’s finger on that trigger” to decide whether to launch nuclear weapons, Beshear said.

In her 35-minute speech at Transylvania, Clinton pledged to focus on the economy and education if she is elected president.

In sounding themes she has made throughout most of her campaigning in Kentucky, she called for more attention to the nation’s infrastructure.

She said she wants a national infrastructure “bank” to set aside funds for major building projects, which, in turn, she claimed, will create more good-paying jobs.

Clinton said she would keep and grow advanced manufacturing jobs in Kentucky and the nation, noting that her husband, former President Bill Clinton, was impressed with the Space Science Center at Morehead State University.

Clinton called for raising the minimum wage, doing more for small businesses owned by women and minorities, and providing equal pay for equal work.

She recalled that a little girl recently asked her if she becomes “the first girl president, will you get paid the same as a boy president?”

Clinton also said she would preserve the federal Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, because health care is a major part of the economy, but would work to lower the costs of health insurance deductibles and prescription drugs.

She said Republicans have no plan for health care other than to try the dismantle the progress that has been made. She specifically cited a provision of the federal law that bans insurance companies from denying coverage because of a pre-existing health condition.

On education, Clinton said community college should be free and that students should be able to refinance their college loans.

Hillary in Ft. Paducah, KY Hillary pays visit to Paducah

Patrons can have a smoke and a quiet breakfast at Little Castle, Roy Trimble's throwback diner on McCracken County's Lone Oak Road, and that remained true Monday morning, until there was a sharp break from routine. Democratic presidential front runner Hillary Clinton, a day before Kentucky's primary and a day after rival Bernie Sanders' Paducah rally, made a 50-minute campaign stop at the restaurant. She spoke briefly to the 200 or so people gathered inside, then walked among tables, talking to voters and posing for selfies. "I'm excited about the primary," said Clinton, the former first lady, U.S. senator and secretary of state. "We've got to turn a lot of people out."

The first event was held in Bowling Green where Clinton continued to focus her attacks on presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump. Of Trump she said, “What Trump says about foreign policy is not just offensive, it’s dangerous…I don’t think most Americans want a loose cannon in the Oval Office.” She also spoke about a number of platform policy points including reducing college debt, increasing the minimum wage, equal pay for women, and improving health care by updating the Affordable Care Act. She wrapped up her speech by asking for everyone’s support in tomorrow’s primary. A video from her speech is below.

x YouTube Video5 takeaways from Clinton's Bowling Green rally

Here are five takeaways from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's rally in Bowling Green Monday:

1. Trump not Sanders.

Republican Donald Trump was the target, not Tuesday's opponent Bernie Sanders.

2. Trump's not the man for foreign policy.

2. Clinton warned of Trump as a "loose cannon" on foreign policy whose rhetoric about Muslims is "not just offensive, it's dangerous."

3. She wants Kentucky.

3. But while she did not attack Sanders, Clinton's day-long campaign tours in Kentucky Sunday and Monday means she badly wants to beat him in the state. "I need your vote tomorrow," she told her Bowling Green audience, and she sounded like she meant it.

4. Project revamp coal country.

4. She spoke of her $30 billion plan to revitalize coal regions but made no reference to her controversial March comment - taken out of context by critics - about putting coal miners out of work. She said it's important to "not leave them (coal miners) behind."

5. In Bevin vs. Beshear, she's for Steve.

5. Former Gov. Steve Beshear drew cheers in speaking before Clinton, who later touted Beshear's record and criticized Gov. Matt Bevin for initiating funding cuts to state universities. (Bevin argues the cuts are important to help address state pension funding crisis.)

Rally in Hopkinsville, KY Hillary rally in Hopkinsville, KY

Clinton headed to Hopkinsville where she spoke on similar themes, and she also outlined her plan to help those living in areas dependent on the coal industry for employment.

She said, “I’m the only candidate that has put forth a plan for coal country, a $30 billion plan to help people in coal country have a chance to have a better future.” As she typically does, she focused on the local area and issues that face those in Kentucky. She wrapped up her speech giving a nod to the nearby military base saying, “Tired of red team or blue team lets be on American team, like 101st airborne at Ft. Campbell be people know be if vote for me tomorrow will work hard and fight for you and make the future that we want, thank you God bless you.”

There was an incident with a heckler at this rally:

Clinton: People should stop listening to GOP "propaganda"

HOPKINSVILLE, KY.

Hillary Clinton says it's "time people stopped listening to Republican propaganda."

The remark was pushback from the likely Democratic presidential nominee against a vocal critic during a rally in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, on Monday. Clinton was praising the record of former Gov. Steven Beshear, a Democrat, noting education and employment gains, as well as his expansion of Medicaid under President Barack Obama's health care overhaul. Clinton then said that Republican Gov. Matt Bevin is "trying to undo it all."

A woman then stood up and yelled, "Wait a minute, that's not true."

"Oh yes it is, ma'am," Clinton shot back, amid cheers. "You are entitled to your opinion, but you're not entitled to your own facts."

A video of the exchange with the heckler is embedded in this article:

And, all of this was just Monday.   There were more events just like these on Sunday as well.  Whew.  I am exhausted just writing about Monday’s events.   How does she do it?  And even with the nomination all wrapped up, I really appreciate Hillary out there,  campaigning hard.  For us.   For the people.

The hard work will pay off with a win in Kentucky today.  I feel it in my bones.  :-)
