This week, purportedbillionaireDonald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) dominated the 24-hour news cycle, just as he's done so many weeks before, but the tone of the coverage was notably more critical than usual.
Why the press finally decided to do its job is anybody's guess, but here are a few possible explanations.
Perhaps it's because Trump used his Tuesday news conference—which was ostensibly about his MIAdonations to veteransgroups—to admonish the media for having the temerity to question his philanthropy.
Or, maybe it had something to do with the documents that the "Mexican" judgewho is overseeing the federalclass-actionlawsuit against TrumpUniversity had ordered released, which prove that Trump is a fraud who preyed on the vulnerable.
Then again, it might have been because Hillary Clinton did something that none of Trump'sRepublicanrivals had been able to do—expose him as temperamentallyunfit to hold office.
Whatever the case may be, with Trump'sprospects of winning the White House appearing to dim under the harsh light of scrutiny, America looks to be on the path back to greatness.
