Last night we got to see, yet again, that this community is so much more than politics. Someone on the site was in crisis, and you all rose up to do something — even if all you could do was offer words of support.
There are times when that feels like it’s not enough. I know I’ve felt that way.
Well, sometimes, it’s everything.
Thank you for rising up, for overcoming political differences, for offering funds, housing, prayers. And thank you to Daily Kos administrators, who got on it, and got help.
That’s what makes this site different, as I’ve said so many times. We step up. We meet each other. We talk on the phone and e-mail and visit each other. We know each other.
We are many. We are mighty. And when we look past the arguments of the day, the minor differences that get blown up into far more than they should be, we are there. There for the work that needs doing, there for the information that needs disseminating, and — ultimately — there for each other.
