Donald Trump in a Las Vegas rally/meeting/ass-kissing session on Saturday, said that he would self-fund his campaign if the GOP’s support of him wavers.
As usual, he’s apparently not paying any attention to the obvious. The painfully obvious.
This latest threat comes on the heals of a short bribe-acceptance tour of several states this weekend, where he claims to have gotten upwards of $8 million in donations. However, most of this is earmarked for the RNC and the down-ticket races, rather than Deadbeat Donnie’s mostly-empty pockets.
See, he feels he’s doing all the work and not being justly rewarded, so screw ‘em, he might just as well just fund-raise for himself.
And that $8 million in donations? Well, since the source of the numbers is Trump himself, using the standard Bullshit Factor and Math Dyslexic skills he routinely demonstrates — rally crowd sizes x5, financial worth x10, etc. — one can assume he may have netted $2 to $4 million for the RNC. Maybe. And it’s probably mostly promises, not actual checks or suitcases filled with cash.
And the RNC is about $30 million short right now just to pay for their mass suicide-slash-convention. Campaign expenses? Oh yeah, they’re going to get busy on that right away!
So, sure, go ahead. Nobody is stopping you, Donnie, that’s for damn sure. Go ahead and raise all the money your own little self, scooping it up with your own tiny hands rather than sharing it with the RNC. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?
One piece of news is that as of Saturday, Trump’s campaign if reporting just over $2 million in cash on hand. And probably lots of unpaid bills are being ignored, because ya know, that’s how he rolls . . .
