Hillary Clinton is Trustworthy!
I am sick of the “We can’t trust the Clintons, they’re corrupt” meme. The Clinton Foundation takes money from people around the world, but it uses it to feed people and to give AIDS medicine to those who otherwise not be able to afford them. Instead of spending his post-presidency on corporate boards or playing endless rounds of golf, Bill Clinton started a non-profit. And for this he and Hillary are vilified. It makes me sick.
We CAN’T let this crap be said without squashing it every time! The “Hillary is corrupt” meme is deliberately created by YEARS of Republican “investigations” and an entire cottage industry of conspiracy theories. Was Bill Clinton running a drugs and prostitution ring out of the Arkansas state house? Did Hillary rip people off in the Whitewater land deal (in which the Clintons LOST money)? We know that Bill Clinton was a serial womanizer (the one truth in their scandal mongering and hardly unique among politicians), but was he actually raping women? Did Hillary have an affair with Vince Foster? Did she arrange his murder and make it look like suicide? What kind of speeches did she give to Wall Street? (Even though speeches for absurd kinds of money are common among former office holders.) Is the Clinton Foundation a front for world domination? Inquiring minds want to know! Seriously???? Investigated again, and again, and again, and NEVER found guilty of any crime.
Yes, Bill was found to be an adulterer—and then impeached and tried by other adulterers, led by a pedophile who is now going to prison for his pedophilia (Denny Hastert), but was full of righteous indignation as he read off articles of impeachment. Yes, the Clintons, who were relatively poor by D.C. politician standards until after the White House years, got rich afterword—by book sales and speeches. Yes, Hillary showed incredibly poor judgement in her e-mails during her time as Secretary of State—and so did many like Colin Powell or Condi Rice who came before her because these were people raised in a pre-internet age who didn’t grow up thinking about cyber-security—and the rules were lax. Benghazi? A tragedy, not a scandal except in the world of Clinton conspiracy fever brains. Meanwhile David Petraeus committed actual crimes during his affair (giving classified info to his reporter/lover) and is allowed to “put this behind him” and still spoken of with respect by both parties. Enough!
The Clintons have their flaws, but they are fundamentally good people. They have worked for decades for the common good. The giant right-wing conspiracy is real and it pisses me off. If we lose to con-man Trump because of the “Hillary is untrustworthy” meme, we will REGRET IT! I’m done.
