John Lewis is a great man. In the early 1960s when he marched and was beaten for voting rights up to last week when he led a sit-in on the House floor for a gun control vote. That all said, even good people can be wrong, and he is here. There are so many wrong things with this statement regarding a potential ticket of Hillary Clinton and Liz Warren:
They’re both good on the campaign trail — very good — but I’m not sure the country can take two women. I’m just not sure,” said Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), a leader of the civil rights movement.

When one argues that the country is not ready for black man for president or a two-woman ticket, one aids bigotry. Even good people have blind spots.
What he said was wrong.
A Hillary and Liz ticket would electrify the party. But in any event, Hillary will not rule Warren out because she is a woman. The country is ready for equality. Over two centuries of two men on the ticket. Almost a century since women got the vote and still only one woman VP candidate for Dems.
Perhaps it’s time for two women.

The two nerdy wonks and feisty grandmothers, who built rival power centers on the political left but this spring gradually became allies, together electrified a crowd of thousands by locking their arms, punching the air and excoriating Donald Trump.
Clinton may be the one running for president, but Warren, her new surrogate and possibly future running mate, stole the show with her eviscerating takedown of Trump — and her enthusiastic endorsement of Clinton.
