I am a white, male, Christian, military and law enforcement veteran, with a high school diploma (some college), now in my early 60’s and in senior management, financially successful living in the suburbs of a major city. By all demographics, I should be voting Republican.
I will never vote for Donald Trump. I love my country too much to do that. I will not betray my fellow American’s that way.
He is an embarrassment to my race, my gender, my faith, my military and work experiences. He has dishonored our country, embraced foreign entanglements in our political system, disrespected women, people of faith, working class Americans, and insulted military veterans and their parents. His blatant and overt bigotry has even disgraced and embarrassed other Republicans and conservatives. He has lied, bullied, intimidated and cheated people and institutions throughout his life, and is proud of it. He is not, in any way shape or form, representative of true leadership. There are no major corporate, military or international leaders who support him – except fellow authoritarians in hostile nations. Any idiot can yell and shout, bluster and browbeat, and use fear as a reason to follow him. The world has seen demagogues come and go, and they always go disgracefully. Always. History is never kind to his type. The idea of him ‘leading’ our country is anathema to all our society stands for.
It takes maturity, discipline, study, intellectual curiosity, true self-awareness, and a deep faith in people to lead our country successfully. Trump has none of these. Instead, he persists in displaying his childishness, immaturity, lack of curiosity, self-absorption without knowing, and a religion of always believing he’s right about everything. Even Vladimir Putin sees Trump as a joke, an easy mark to exploit and manipulate by simple and blatantly false praise.
No, Donald Trump will never have my vote.
