Maine’s Gov. Paul LePage is such a big Trump supporter that he’s introduced him twice at Maine rallies. His own daughter is running the Trump campaign in Maine.
In the last few days, LePage has lost it.
He told a conservative shock jock that Mr. Khan is a “con artist.”
Then he went back to his racist comments about drug dealers and yelled at reporters.
Gov. Paul LePage on Thursday fiercely defended comments he made about race and drug dealers at a town hall meeting Wednesday in North Berwick, where he said he keeps a binder of photographs of drug dealers arrested in Maine and that more than 90 percent of them are black or Hispanic.
In a tense exchange with two reporters outside his State House office, LePage said: “Let me tell you something: Black people come up the highway and they kill Mainers. You ought to look into that!”
The governor then stormed off, saying over his shoulder, “You make me so sick!”
LePage also left a voice mail for a legislator who’s the head of the Health and Human Services Committee.
The Portland Press Herald has the audio on its site with the warning “This audio contains obscenities.”

Mr. Gattine, this is Gov. Paul Richard LePage. I would like to talk to you about your comments about my being a racist, you cocksucker. I want to talk to you. I want you to prove that I’m a racist. I’ve spent my life helping black people and you little son-of-a-bitch, socialist cocksucker. You … I need you to, just friggin. I want you to record this and make it public because I am after you. Thank you.
Yes, the governor of Maine called a legislator “a socialist cocksucker”!
Maybe he didn’t want Sen. Susan Collins — a NeverTrumper — to be the face of Maine Republicans.
