He is right. It is, for lack of a better word, deplorable.

I won’t ask what is wrong with America that something so messed up is the case.

I won’t express shock or clutch pearls that the feelings of racists and bigots have been given primacy over the millions of people they are trying to destroy. 

This is what we fight. This is why we fight.

We need to win.
