A Houston man went on a shooting spree early this morning, wounding nine people. One remains in critical condition. The suspect began shooting at arriving officers and he was fatally shot by Houston police within minutes. Houston PD have confirmed he was wearing a uniform with Nazi emblems:
Law enforcement sources said that the shooter was wearing what appeared to be an antique German uniform with Swastikas on it.
Montalvo said the gunman’s car was also found on Law Street, and that several weapons were found inside. Police spent hours searching the vehicle.
Investigators also combed through the shooter's apartment, where they found what appeared to be Nazi paraphernalia inside, according to a law enforcement source.
Neighbors say the shooting suspect is Nathan DeSai, a 46-year-old Texas attorney:
DeSai's former law partner Kenneth McDaniel says he is in disbelief over what happened. McDaniel said he had not spoken to DeSai since February, when the two decided mutually to dissolve their partnership due to economic factors.
"It's a horrible situation, I don't like hearing anything that's happened... Not only to Nathan, to everybody that is involved and I don't know what to say," said McDaniel
The wife of one of the victims said DeSai had recently pulled a gun on roofers:
"What personal problems he has going on in his life, who knows. I do know that there was a confrontation with a roofing company a few weeks ago that he had a problem with and I believe he was waving around his AR, but what set him off at 6:12 this morning, I don't know," said Jennifer Moredo.
According to Jason Delgado, property manager of the The Oaks complex, there were two incidents reported with the suspect in the past few weeks. Regarding the roofing project that Jennifer Moredo referenced, one of the roofers called police and said he had been threatened by DeSai with a gun. HPD was not able to make an arrest because the gun was not pointed at the roofer.
A neighbor captured some of the footage from a nearby window, which can be see below.
