I contribute a bit more than I should to a selected few candidates each election year. I encourage others to do the same. I will keep doing so.
But, FFS, to the DCCC and the DSCC and all those campaigns who would like to see me contributing to their candidates, stop sending me emails needling me with some version of “WE’RE DOOMED!”
If we’re doomed, I might as well spend my money on tequila.
I am sure this hyperbolic approach has been found to be highly successful in the focus groups and the targeted test runs that email campaigns engage in.
But they don’t work on me. They have the opposite effect.
