Yes things are going in our direction. But if we all pitch in and put on a huge push in this last month, we may be able to make this thing bigger than we imagined. From The New York Times today:
Mr. Trump has already slipped perceptibly in public polls, trailing widely this week in Pennsylvania and by smaller margins in Florida and North Carolina — three states he cannot afford to lose. But private polling by both parties shows an even more precipitous drop, especially among independent voters, moderate Republicans and women, according to a dozen strategists from both parties who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the data was confidential.I always suspected that private, in-house polling was showing the Republicans to be in more trouble than the major polling organizations indicated. I had wondered, for instance, about John Kasich’s enigmatic statement that Trump could bring down the entire Republican Party. What did he mean by that, I thought. Now I understand. He’s seeing the private data. We have a chance to make this thing BIG. The recent polling of Latino voters showing Trump down in the 11%-15% range is equally ominous for the Republicans. If Latino voters not only vote Democratic for president but vote Democratic top to bottom, a number of Republican officeholders will be on very thin ice.
Women are now close to +20 for Clinton, and that’s in the public polling. College-educated whites in general, a group which invariably supports Republicans, are shifting perceptibly to Clinton. Yes, non-college educated white men are going about 75% to 80% for Trump, but they’re not necessarily registering to vote in large numbers. Black support for Trump is in the 1% to 2% range, and if President Obama and others can rally black voters to participate in numbers equal to those in 2012, it spells trouble for the GOP again. National public polling has Clinton up by 6 or 7. The private polling has her up by 10 or more, I would bet. And yes, that puts Arizona and Georgia within range. It makes Texas uncomfortably close for the GOP as well. And yes, it puts the House of Representatives in play, despite the atrocious Republican gerrymander. We have a REAL shot, by the way, of throwing the criminal scumbag Darrell Issa out of office.
And did I mention the Senate? Our candidates are in the lead against Republican Senators in New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Wisconsin, North Carolina (!) and now Missouri (!!). We have a shot at an open seat in Indiana as well. How would a 7 or 8 seat Democratic gain in the Senate sit with you? I rather like it myself. :-)
Is this really possible?
YES.
In the movie Patton, the general says there is a moment in a battle when you have the opportunity to “kick ‘em in the ass”. OUR MOMENT IS HERE. How can YOU participate?
I’m glad you asked.
For several weeks I have been posting action diaries. My most recent one is right here:
It will give you a HUGE amount of information on voter registration, early voting, joining the Clinton-Kaine campaign, how to help Senate and House candidates, and so much more. I urge you to look at it.
The time has come to administer a well-deserved beat down to the right wing fanatics and crooks that have done such grievous damage to our beloved country. I’m FIRED UP for victory.
How about you?
Let’s kick ‘em in the ass !
