I'll preface this by saying that I'm not really a social media person.
For years, I resisted opening a Facebook account, because quite frankly, I can't imagine why anyone would be interested in what I'm doing every hour of the day.
I finally joined Facebook a few years ago when I became deeply involved in the rescue of shelter animals. Most animal rescuers use Facebook as their primary medium for communicating, fundraising and other rescue activities. Still, I almost never post on my personal page; most of my Facebook activity is on the pages of rescue groups.
This election season, unfortunately, Facebook has become a swamp of innuendo and misinformation, and it's almost impossible to avoid seeing it. So this morning, I finally broke down and put an election related post on my Facebook page.
In general, I try to avoid discussing politics, because all of us are entitled to our own opinions on issues. However, no one is entitled to their own facts. So let's put this election into perspective.
Donald Trump is facing multiple charges of defrauding students at Trump University, one case with a Court date set for November 28, 2016.
Donald Trump is facing a December 16, 2016 Court date in claims he raped a 13 year old girl.
Donald Trump is the subject of multi-state investigations, uncovering fraud and self-dealing related to his Trump Foundation.
Donald Trump has a history of thousands of lawsuits against him over his business practices, in which he bankrupted small businesses and cheated employees.
While even Donald Trump's tax proposals have been shown by bipartisan experts to benefit mainly Donald Trump and the ultra wealthy.
Donald Trump has a long and well-documented history of harassing and disrespecting women.
And even Donald Trump's currently stated pro-life positions are both questionable and uninformed.
While every major or minor "scandal" during Hillary Clinton's decades of public service has been thoroughly debunked.
On the other hand, the Republican Director of the FBI stated, unequivocally, in July 2016 that Hillary Clinton had not engaged in any criminal activity in the case involving her email server. However, now he says there are some additional emails that were not sent by Clinton, were not sent to Clinton, were never on her email server, may or may not have any significance to the email server investigation, and may have already been read by the FBI before July 2016 -- but some people believe this innuendo somehow disqualifies Clinton from the Presidency.
Sorry, but innuendo and facts are not the same.
