Those of you who don’t watch Univision—Spanish language broadcast television— may not know much about Jorge Ramos, “regarded as the best-known Spanish-language news anchor in the United States, for which he has been referred to as "The Walter Cronkite of Latino America.” Ramos has recently had conflict with Donald Trump over his inflammatory rhetoric regarding immigration.
Ramos has just published a very strong opinion piece, “Casi una traición” (see google translation here) which in English is “Almost a betrayal.” He focuses on the two Republican candidates who are Hispanic — Marco Rubio, child of Cuban immigrants, and Ted Cruz, born in Canada of a Cuban father, and American mother.
He points out that
“Never before have we seen so many children of immigrants seeking the White House...These are the children of immigrants seeking the US presidency: Donald Trump, whose mother was born in Scotland; Marco Rubio, father and mother born in Cuba; Ted Cruz, born in Canada, of a Cuban father; and Democrat, Bernie Sanders, whose father was from Poland. (Bobby Jindal, whose parents were born in India, withdrew from the race). They all lived firsthand what it is to grow in a house with different accents and with at least one parent or a mother learning the rules and customs of their adopted country.”
Ramos states that Rubio and Cruz are competing with each other “to see who is more opposed to the legalization of undocumented immigrants,” and that “Latino voters will not vote for a candidate just because he's Latino. Instead, they will demand more. They will require care for new immigrants in the same way someone took care of their parents.”
Ramos doesn’t neglect Trump, and his ludicrous proposals.
In this clip from Fusion he talks about Donald’s Wall:

Thank you Mr. Ramos.
