Former Obama advisor and CNN contributor Van Jones said Tuesday that we are witnessing a “full-on rebellion” within the Democratic Party against Hillary Clinton, predicting that Bernie Sanders would win the first two primary states. Jones made the comments after New Day host Alisyn Camerota pointed out that polls show Clinton possibly losing in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Jones pointed out that Bill Clinton also lost New Hampshire and Iowa in his 1992 run and went on to win. “But something extraordinary is happening here; there is a full-on rebellion at the grassroots level of the Democratic Party,” he said. “MoveOn.org, our biggest progressive organization, endorsed Bernie Sanders last night. Overwhelmingly, 67%.”Jones noted that the Clintons were exacerbating the problem with “groundless” attacks on Sanders, including a statement from daughter Chelsea Clinton saying he wanted to undo Obamacare. “If your main problem with the base is that you are not authentic, don’t waste Chelsea Clinton on an inauthentic attack!” he said. “The Clintons are starting to do stuff that’s stoking this rebellion. It’s not that Hillary Clinton’s going to lose, Bernie Sanders is likely now to win both Iowa and New Hampshire because the base is getting frustrated with the Clinton campaign,” he concluded.

Correction: Van Jones quoted that MoveOn.org  endorsed Bernie with 67% of vote; that’s incorrect, correct figure is 79% of members vote.
