WI CBS Poll: Sanders 49%, Hillary 47% NY CBS Poll: Hillary 53%, Sanders 43%

New WI poll out this morning shows a much tighter race with Sanders leading by just 2 points.

Remember, Nate Silver’s model says that Sanders has to win by at least 15% to cut into Hillary’s pledged delegate lead. Anything less than a 15% win is as a good as a loss for Sanders.

On the Democratic side, Bernie Sanders has a very narrow lead in Wisconsin, up 49 percent to 47 percent over Hillary Clinton. In New York Clinton leads Sanders by ten points, 53 percent to 43 percent.

Wisconsin Democrats by a wide margin would like to see the next president follow more progressive policies than President Obama, and are more inclined to believe that trade takes away U.S. jobs, both sentiments that appear to be helping Sanders, even as he trails Clinton on the measure of being prepared to be president.

One thing is a clear...WI is lot closer than Sanders would like it to be. He is not getting a blowout win that he needs. If he doesn’t get his target numbers, he will fall further behind.  And NY is safe for Hillary as she is above 50%.

The nomination race was over since March 15 when Sanders went 0 for 5. But let’s hope this pretend “close" nomination race per Sanders supporters is over in NY.
