Jeff Weaver: Barbara Boxer is a liar! Updated: Sen. Boxer responds to Weaver.

Noted comic book store owner, long time Bernie Sanders confident, former Sanders Chief of Staff, and current Campaign Manager opened his mouth yesterday and promptly inserted his foot. On CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360, Weaver told host John Berman that he thinks Senator Boxer was lying when she said that she feared for her safety at the recent  Nevada Democratic State Convention.

And on what is he basing that completely asinine claim? This 10 second amateur video of Senator Boxer leaving the stage:

To me the video is too dark and too short to see clearly what’s happening, but Weaver claims Senator Boxer is blowing kisses at the gauntlet of loud, unruly Bernie supporters. While the video to me is too dark to see clearly what is happening, the audio is very clear: Senator Box faced a very loud, angry and unruly crowd.

“I don't want to see Sen. Barbara Boxer walking off the stage claiming she's in fear of her life while she's contemptuously blowing kisses at Sanders supporters,” Weaver said to Berman. “No, absolutely not.”

Um, Jeff: What would you have a 75 year old lady do? Scream and yell insults back at them???? I would say that wouldn’t be very lady-like, but that would be a bit misogynistic. I know some very nice little old ladies who, when confronted with assholes like this, could yell and scream insults back at them that would make a sailor blush. Let’s just say that wouldn’t be very Senator-like.

When Berman asked Weaver if he thought Boxer was lying, Weaver replied, “I think if you watch the online video, it seems incongruous if somebody was in fear for their life while they're blowing kisses at that opponents. Yes, I think that’s incongruous.”

Incongruous, huh? Hmm, let me make sure I understand the context of that: not in harmony or keeping with the surroundings or other aspects of something. Yep, that’s what thought it meant. So, to not be “incongruous”, you have to stoop as low as some assholes screaming insults at you? Naw, no thanks, I’m with her:

And a special shout out to bobswern: Yep, I got Harry Reid’s memo about "laying off Sanders”. Happy to oblige. Because unfortunately the more stupid shit like this the Sanders campaign says, the more it tarnishes a very good man’s very good name.
