Kos, If you only knew what you were talking about....

In North Carolina political party affiliation is a matter of public record. A person in North Carolina concerned about possible effects of party affiliation on job status might be wise to register as independent to protect the privacy of their political beliefs. Anyone can use the NC Public Voter Search to find a person’s voting record and party affiliation. Here’s an edited snippet of my page:

Party: DEM

Jurisdictions Precinct: PRECINCT D2 VTD: D Congress: CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT 6 NC Senate: NC SENATE DISTRICT 12 NC House: NC HOUSE DISTRICT 51 Superior Court: 11A SUPERIOR COURT Judicial: 11TH JUDICIAL Prosecutorial: 11A PROSECUTORIAL

When I just voted in early June at the local American Legion hall the polling place worker asked for my ID then asked for my address and party affiliation. Everyone in line behind me could hear where I lived and what party I belonged to. That’s how it works here if you want a primary election ballot.

If you don’t want to look like an ignorant fool, don’t say things that are flagrant falsehoods.

There is no point to a political party unless that party can decide for itself who represents it. It costs nothing to register as a Democrat (or Republican). No one even knows which party you register under. The only reason to register as an independent is because you think you are too good or pure or uncorrupted to be a member of a party. And if that’s the case? Good for you! We are all duly impressed. So shiny and perfect!

But fuck you, you don’t get to pick our candidates.

Kos you might consider apologizing for this nasty rant but the least you can do is correct your mistakes. The voting process in the U.S. is managed at the state level. Clearly you do not know how each state manages voting. See above. Bernie Sanders is fighting to get as many voters as possible to vote Democratic given the crazy state by state system we actually have.

Last I knew, saying fuck you to potential new Democratic voters wasn’t the way to build the party.
