Trump is too stupid to understand that Pence just launched his 2020 campaign by running from him

Mike Pence spent the debate running from Donald Trump, blatantly lying about anything offensive Trump has ever said, and even openly contradicting Trump on Russia and Vladimir Putin. He wasn’t making the case for Trump to be president, he was launching his own 2020 presidential campaign. But narcissistic idiot that he is, Trump thought Pence was helping him.

Mike Pence won big. We should all be proud of Mike!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 5, 2016

Just don’t let him know what Pence was really up to, because that might lead to a late night Twitter storm. But Trump isn't smart enough to understand what really happened, just as he isn't smart enough to understand that Putin doesn't respect him but sees him as a witless fool.

Mike Pence lowkey scammed the Trump campaign

A few quick thoughts: Kaine is a better surrogate than Pence; Pence won't defend Trump; debate will have no effect on the race

I can only think of one example, when Pence defended Trump reducing his tax burden https://t.co/uHGcns4lPS

Very, very off message https://t.co/3BMHQSpDIi

Pence laughs dismissively every time Kaine quotes an outrageous Trump quote. It's increasingly clear he just doesn't want to defend Trump.

The pattern in this debate: Governor Pence is pretending that Trump's statements and policies don't exist, rather than defending them.

New drinking game: drink every time Pence scoffs at something that Trump actually said. #VPDebate

Has Pence gone rogue on policy re: Syria, Russia?

— Joan Walsh (@joanwalsh) October 5, 2016 x

It was shocking how much Pence was allowed to lie by the moderator. It was shocking how much he lied, period.

Pence: I'll defend anything Trump saidKaine: OK, go for itPence: He didn't say any of the stuff he said. See? Done.

Second debate in a row where Trump can complain of a Mike that wasn't working for him.

Pence’s strategy: he couldn’t sell Trump, so he didn’t. https://t.co/1KxOiQcRu5

2020 PRIMARY DEBATE MODERATOR: Governor Pence, you were Donald Trump's running mate in 2016...PENCE: *shakes head emphatically*

— Angus Johnston (@studentactivism) October 5, 2016 x

Tonight is a debate between Pence and Trump. Perhaps they should get their own failed houses in order before they come asking for our votes.

— John Dingell (@JohnDingell) October 5, 2016 x

Mike Pence will solidly win this debate in his closing remarks, when he flatly denies that Donald Trump is running for president.

A+ for style though. https://t.co/TKz0pLxZ8i

pence: i love and support my running mate, who is definitely a real presidential fellowkaine: your running mate is donald trumppence: nope

— Alexandra Petri (@petridishes) October 5, 2016 x

... that Pence lied not only about Trump, about Clinton & about THINGS HE HAS ACTUALLY SAID seems more important than "how he came across"
