Right now Wikileaks is leaking a private citizen’s emails and news orgs are treating the content of the private emails as legit news. The GOP, alt-right, and emo progs are thrilled with the release. Because, what, openness, I guess?
Their latest PR effort seems to be “just because we’re against Hillary doesn’t mean we’re for Trump.”
Bullshit. Hillary (along with Obama now, too) is their only target. They are intensely trying to bring down her campaign.
And failing miserably, I might add.
Assange is a narcissist on a Trumpian scale, and has leaned toward white nationalism his whole public life. Sexual assault allegations against him is another similarity he shares with the GOP nominee.
I’d like anyone who thinks there is some value to what they’re doing right now to stop and think for one minute. What if their effort was directed toward their favorite candidate’s campaign? What if they leaked Sanders campaign emails during the primaries? What if they released Sanders tax returns? No, really: Stop for one minute, take a breath, and consider it. Would they champion the openness?
What if they were aggressively outing things in the Trump campaign? I think it would become the center of his “rigged” complaint.
What if they were outing internal emails of CNN? Would CNN splash headlines of the revaluations across the screen, and talk about them in their shows throughout the day?
The answers of course are no, no and no.
Assange is partnering with the Russian government in an effort to undermine the US election. The Russian government, the champion of democracy across the globe?
Think about that. And call Wikileaks what they are: A criminal enterprise run by an accused raptist with racist tendencies, partnered with a government that openly controls the media and holds make-believe elections.
I know I will never support them even if in the future they take aim at people and/or organizations that I don’t support.
